Marsh-ian Wästlander

Created for the FÖLK-LORE, an upcoming jam of MÖRK BORG content inspired by the folk legends of the world.

Up in the hills of Wästland proper, beyond the small villages that speckle the hillsides, lies the Quag. A rotten wood of sour ground and strange people, said to be violent to travelers so mind your business and stick to the roads; or rather, what is left of them. Don't be caught staring at these folk, no matter the inclination, for their freakish appearance and large heads will prompt one to gawk and guffaw. Stay clear of these strange "marsh-ians" if you find your self up that aways.

This content was made to be compatible with MÖRK BORG but, is simply a twist on a Missouri tall-tale of cursed individuals living life as violent imposters (Hence Mis'erans - Missouri tends to be called "Mizzurrah" often noting it's hot, boggy summers for all of it's misery. )This "Uncanny Valley" façade of life seems to mirror real human life but, in ways that aren't quite right. 

Use this Lore for your games but note that, while these creatures are essentially caricatures of humans - they are by no means to be used in sexist, racist, homophobic and transphobic fashions. I found a good Pinterest board if you are looking for ideas! Originally was inspired by papier-mâché  masks, only if instead of masks, they were just fleshy bits.
